How we are run

The Agency is incorporated as a co-operative corporation without share capital under the Canada Cooperatives Act. By-law #1 names the Co-operative Housing Federation of Canada (CHF Canada) as the only entity that can be a member, now and in future.

The Agency’s by-laws give CHF Canada limited duties. It approves minutes from the last annual meeting, names the auditor, considers the auditor’s report, approves the audited financial statements, appoints qualified directors for a three-year term and removes them if they cease to be qualified. These actions can all be done through a resolution signed by CHF Canada’s representative. The board of directors exercises all other powers, which it may delegate to the Agency’s staff.

How we are accountable
