A New Board for 2023-2024

Date
1 August 2023

The Agency’s director from the Prairies Region has now retired after serving three three-year terms. Ken McFarland will be missed for more than his stellar ability to dig into a set of financial statements.

A chartered accountant and former member of a Toronto housing co-operative, Ken served as treasurer throughout his tenure on the Agency’s Board. The auditor for many housing co-operatives in the Toronto and Niagara Regions, he also contributed to the wider sector on the Co-operative Housing Stabilization Fund’s board and as a member of CHF Canada’s Finance Committee.

Our newest director is Daniel Ish, also from the Prairies, who brings the Agency great experience on boards and special expertise in governance.

Now retired from the University of Saskatoon’s law school, Dan has extensive international experience as a volunteer for the Canadian Co-operative Association. On leave from the university, he served as an adjudicator (later Chief Adjudicator) for the Indian Residential Schools Settlement Agreement.

Dan has a particular interest in alternative dispute resolution, including mediation. Since officially retiring, he has accelerated his practice of arbitration and mediation and his volunteer work for the credit union sector in Saskatchewan.
