CMHC has provided the Agency with the 2021 utility allowances. 

Late last year the Agency swung into action at CMHC’s call. We were asked to get temporary rental assistance to co-ops whose operating agreements had ended before 2016. (These co-op were locked out of the new Rental Assistance Program because their agreements had expired too early.)

The first year under the Rental Assistance Program (FCHI-2) has been a hard slog for housing co-ops. The program came together while you were using it, resulting in months of frustration as one change followed another. We can only thank you for your patience. We finally have good news to offer.

We’re pleased to announce the release our 2020 Rent Supplement Report. The Rent Supplement Program helps qualified households by funding the difference between the occupancy charge and their geared-to-income charge.

On 13 January, the Minister of Housing and Diversity and Inclusion, Ahmed Hussen, announced $118.2 million in funding for co-ops through the Federal Community Housing Initiative (FCHI).
